Required Skills | ● Proven experience as an DZ driver, minimum of 2 years in Canada. ● Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation regulations) and compliance ● Familiarity with safety protocols related to commercial driving and cargo handling. Vehicle Maintenance ● Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and the ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. ● Experience in loading and unloading various types of cargo, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage. ● Proficiency in using GPS and other navigation tools to plan and follow efficient routes. ● Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and team members and maintaining accurate delivery records. |
Preferred Skills | ● Ability to perform minor repairs and troubleshoot vehicle issues. ● Strong time management skills to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to schedules. ● Strong problem-solving skills for addressing unexpected issues on the road. ● Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), transportation management software, and other digital tools used in modern trucking. ● Good understanding of the regional geography and the road networks within the delivery area. ● Willingness to work flexible hours as needed. ● High attention to detail. |
License, certifications and PPE required | ● Valid ODL (Operator’s Driver License) license/ Commercial driver’s license. ● Health and Safety certificate: Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps ● Personal Protection Equipment (safety footwear) |
