Experience required

2 years of Canadian experience as a truck driver with a clean driving record

Responsibilities or main duties

●        Transport materials and equipment to various locations.

●        Load and unload materials using forklifts and other equipment.

●        Follow all safety procedures and regulations.

●        Keep accurate records of deliveries and pickups.

●        Maintain a clean and organized truck

Required Skills

●        Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation regulations) and compliance

●        Familiarity with safety protocols related to commercial driving and cargo handling.

●        Vehicle Maintenance

●        Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and the ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

●        Experience in loading and unloading various types of cargo, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage.

●        Proficiency in using GPS and other navigation tools to plan and follow efficient routes.

●        Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and team members and maintaining accurate delivery records. 

Preferred Skills

●        Ability to perform minor repairs and troubleshoot vehicle issues.

●        Strong time management skills to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to schedules.

●        Strong problem-solving skills for addressing unexpected issues on the road.

●        Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), transportation management software, and other digital tools used in modern trucking.

●        Good understanding of the regional geography and the road networks within the delivery area.

●        Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.

●        High attention to detail.

License, certifications and PPE required 

 

 

●        Valid ODL (Operator’s Driver License) License/ Commercial driver’s license.

●        Health and Safety certificate: Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps

●        Personal Protection Equipment (safety footwear)
