Requirements

Experience required

2 Years of Canadian Experience as a truck driver with a clean driving record

Responsibilities or main duties

  • Transport materials and equipment to various locations.
  • Efficiently load and unload cargo, ensuring the safety of the goods and adherence to best practices.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of deliveries and pickups.
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an DZ driver, minimum of 2 years in Canada.
  • Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation regulations) and compliance
  • Familiarity with safety protocols related to commercial driving and cargo handling.
  • Vehicle Maintenance
  • Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and the ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Experience in loading and unloading various types of cargo, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage.
  • Proficiency in using GPS and other navigation tools to plan and follow efficient routes.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients and team members and maintaining accurate delivery records.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to perform minor repairs and troubleshoot vehicle issues.
  • Strong time management skills to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to schedules.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for addressing unexpected issues on the road.
  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), transportation management software, and other digital tools used in modern trucking.
  • Good understanding of the regional geography and the road networks within the delivery area.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • High attention to detail.

License, certifications and PPE required

  • Valid ODL (Operator’s Driver License) license/ Commercial driver’s license.
  • Health and Safety certificate: Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps
  • Personal Protection Equipment (safety footwear)
